Retail Inspiration- Refashions and Thrifting for Quality
John Zack Lace Peplum Dress
Nahla Black Suedette T Bar Wedge
Chanel Rewind Part Quilt Shopper Bag
Belt Marni
A good thing to remember to do when you really want to be able to find quality pieces or quality possible refashions in a thrift store is to look to your favorite designers and styles to keep in mind the form and fit you are looking for. This especially makes it easier for you to spot some simple refashions that could make the baggy vintage dress into a form fitting knockout! Remember, don't take anything just as it is, make it work for you!
By the way, I really want this for a birthday outfit but I think I find something for a fraction of the price. See what you come up with!

I have risen from the grave! Amy Winehouse Cover Song! DIY Recording
You know I'm no good cover.
Hey everybody. I have absolutely neglected my wonderful blog. I have just been completely immersed in working on recordings. Music is my first love. I hope you can forgive me :(
How has everyone's summer been going so far? Any exciting excursions?
I have just been going to school and stuck like chuck in front of my microphone.
My latest recording is a cover of the Amy Winehouse song, "You know I'm no good."
Please have a listen if you have a minute! I would love some feedback. And pass it on if you like it! :D
I'm going to try and post some projects for you guys and hopefully I can deliver but just in case, you'll have some sweet music for your ears!

Memory Blanket DIY Update #2
Happy Saturday every one! I hope you are having a nice and relaxed weekend so far! I am using my weekend to catch up on some projects that have fallen second to my studies : / Well as you can remember from A Fashion Recycler's Dream, I was commissioned for a project to make a memory blanket out of old T-Shirts. Well, my dream turned into a nightmare after Update #1.
I had all of the little scraps pinned and ready to go and as I sewed a few, I noticed a huge bunching and puckering problem because of the super stretchy material. I changed needles and adjusted the thread tension on my machine and still, they were coming it very bunched and ugly.
That was about three weeks ago. :/
I am by no means a professional seamstress or quilter so my technique is more trial and error than anything. I am a reconstructor not a fabricator although I wish I was!
Well I came across Basting Spray which they label says, is an adhesive for things like quilting and applique. When I saw this at the store, I nearly screamed. I knew it was the answer to my problems.
So FINALLY. Some progress. I was able to attach all of the scraps to large pieces of scrap fabric and then run them through the sewing machine with no puckering! YES!
I am now taking on the rest of the project...or at least taking inventory on what needs to be done next which may or may not be executed today. Hehe!
How is your weekend going so far?
Any interesting plans?
Attempting any projects for the weekend?
Well I'm not sure if I will be working on the rest of this project today but I do know that my Saturday will include finally enjoying my new book, a little cleaning and organizing and a cold beer. :D There's just nothing like the weekend! Have a good one!

Time [frames] - TGIF Edition
This post is the first of a new feature to The Iridescent Life called Time [frames] . I am constantly taking all kinds of pictures. I love capturing and immortalizing time into something tangible and memorable. My worst fear is letting a special moment slip by and be forgotten. To me, photography is about celebrating and loving life for what it is; now that's an iridescent life.
Well I am so happy that it is finally friday! Have a great weekend, everyone!
